About Me

The love of the great outdoors, is what really started me in taxidermy. From holding my Dad's goose at the age of 3, to preserving memories for others, I have always enjoyed being outdoors. My parents had their hands full because I wanted to get everything shot or caught mounted. This is what drives me to recreate an animal to look as natural as it is in the wild. I started playing with taxidermy in high school, doing a few of my own birds and animals in my parents basement. After 4 years of practice and trying my patience, in 1996 I attended Storey's School of Taxidermy. I learned many aspects of taxidermy as they taught me how to mount birds, deer, full body animals, and fish. After my schooling I was confident and ready to open my own business. I have now been open since 1996 and continue to educate myself to improve the quality of my work.

To help with my improvement efforts I am the President of the South Dakota Taxidermy Association (SDTA) and a 5 year member of the North Dakota Taxidermy Association which hold annual taxidermy competitions. At the competitions, Taxidermist enter their mounts to be judged by well renowned Taxidermist who have won many awards in World and National competitions. These judges critique your mount and give you tips on improving your work. New tips and techniques are also given in several seminars held during the 3 day event, which also helps me bring my work up to another level.
